The reason is simple economics — millions of Americans with diabetes are uninsured or under-insured, and retail pharmacy prices for test strips are steep. What Determines the Price

Three things decide what your strips are worth

1. Brand. OneTouch Ultra and Verio, Freestyle Lite, Contour Next, and Accu-Chek lines hold the strongest value. Store brands and generic strips are worth less but still sellable — we buy those too.

2. Expiration date. Full price applies to boxes with 10 or more months remaining. Shorter-dated boxes get adjusted rates — expired strips generally aren’t accepted.

3. Condition. Boxes must be factory-sealed, unopened, and undamaged — no writing, pharmacy labels are okay. Crushed or opened boxes lose their value entirely.
